Forest Management Units for Pennsylvania Agricultural Science Educataors

This document, consisting of ten areas about forest management, was written for use primarily by agricultural instructors in Pennsylvania. However, it may be used for 4-H, science classes, or environmental classes. The units should be taught as a whole unit to tenth through twelfth grade students.

The units are broken down into objectives to be mastered by the students for complete comprehension of the competencies. They are written to provide instructors flexibility for use in their own situations.

Also included are a glossary of terms, literature reference, and select forestry Web addresses.

This document was prepared by Douglas Brown, agricultural educator at Central Columbia High School, as partial requirement for his master's degree at Penn State. You may contact Doug at 570-784-2833, Ext. 11 or e-mail: dbrown@centralcolumbia.K12.pa.us.
