Leadership Development Minor (L DEV)

The minor in Leadership Development is based on a broad cross-disciplinary philosophy of leadership. The goal of the minor is to expand students' knowledge, skills, and understanding of specific leadership theories, concepts, models, and current leadership issues in applied settngs.

Students must complete 18 or more credits related to the study of leadership, 3 of which must be an internship experience.

A course grade of C or better must be earned in each graded course. This minor is open to all students wanting to supplement their academic major.

Procedures for Enrollment:

Students may apply for admission to the Leadership Development minor by downloading and submitting an application for Entrance to Minor. Approval of the student’s major program advisor is also required.

Requirements:

The following 4 courses are required of all students completing this minor:

• AEE 360: Leadership Development for Small Groups
• AEE 311: Developing Youth Leadership through Organization/ Program Stucture
• AEE 460: Foundations in Leadership Development
• AEE 495D: Leadership Internship
