Agricultural Communications Minor (AGCOM)

Through the Department of Agricultural and Extension Education, this interdisciplinary program of study is designed to provide students with the opportunity to gain a basic understanding of, and to develop a skill level for, professional communication practices in the food and agricultural sciences and natural resources. Students need to know how to communicate effectively in the workplace. Communications is the essence of all professional practices. This minor offers interested students in the College of Agricultural Sciences a coherent and recognized focus for their communication interests within their overall academic program.

Procedures for Enrollment

Students may apply for admission to the Agricultural Communications minor by downloading and submitting an application for Entrance to Minor. Approval of the student’s major program advisor is also required.

Requirements:

Students are required to complete a total of 19 credits, including six credits at the 400 level. For entrance into the minor, a student must complete COMM 160 with a grade of C or better. A grade of C or better is required in every course used to satisfy the requirements of the minor.
